The life of a Pilot
I think that it all started when I was a little girl. I used to "fly" around our backyard with a "cape" tied around my neck thinking that I was Supergirl. I also have a photo of a very young-looking "Flight Engineer" sitting in my father's seat in the cockpit. I was just 14 months old when I went to Mauritius. I remember lying at the back, drinking flat Coke, while my mother served passengers on what was so aptly named "vomit comet", the Dakota, for Comair. All my life I have been exposed to the aviation world and that is where I want to be for the rest of it too...

A little about myself
Hi all! I am Natalie and I am busy earning my wings. I matriculated last year from Willowmoore High in Benoni and started flying on the 8th of January 2000 at Pretoria Flying School, Wonderboom. I attended CPL ground school at Grand Central Airport through the Flight Training College of South Africa. I have a total of 94 hours - still "brand new"! |
What else have I been up to? I have a monthly column going on which you can find under the "Gone Solo" section. The articles that I have written there will update you on my training progress and advice is also offerred - so go give it a squiz! More updating will take place on this page in due time - promise! |
The CPL exams Well - it seems that hard work (and no social life) has paid off! I have passed all 8 CPL exams first time round! See - it CAN be done!
I have just recently completed my Night Rating - the article will be up in "Gone Solo" soon!
Remember the words of Viper (Top Gun): A good pilot is compelled to always evaluate what has happenned so he can apply what he has learnt!
HAPPY & SAFE FLYING! :)
